Since 2016 we have produced a range of durable ECO owl nest boxes made from recycled Stokbord. These boxes are lightweight, weatherproof and designed to provide safe, long-lasting nesting sites for barn owls, tawny owls, little owls and kestrels across the UK.
Where should an owl box be installed?
Barn owls prefer quiet locations with open countryside nearby for hunting. Good sites include:
For best results, choose a location away from busy roads and regular disturbance, with rough grassland nearby to support hunting.
Will barn owls use a nest box?
Yes, where suitable habitat exists and disturbance is low, barn owls readily adopt well-positioned nest boxes.
How long does it take for a box to be used?
Some boxes are occupied within months, while others may take a few seasons. Patience is important as owls establish territories over time.
Do owl boxes require maintenance?
ECO boxes are designed for longevity and minimal maintenance. Occasional inspection is sufficient.
Every purchase directly supports our conservation work and the 12-acre Wildlife Haven at Netheridge Farm.
