Bird of Prey Flying Displays – As an added visitor attraction & operating under our charity's name 'Barn Owl Centre', we have opened Gloucester City's first Bird of Prey Centre. This opened in July 2009 at weekends & school holidays. Now open, it is proving to be a great asset for the area & an enjoyable place to visit. Come & see us & encounter the working relationship we have with our birds, whilst here you can meet our friendly staff plus a variety of the birds we care for & support. Many of our birds are flown during the day within a very natural environment you would expect to see if they were in the wild.

Flying displays throughout the day

Indoor Flying Area for Rainy Days
In the event of bad weather, some of our birds will continue to be flown within our 70 seated indoor flying area.

Male Linnet within our wildflower meadow

Nature Reserve & Wildflower Meadow – During the summer of 2009 we opened up the whole farm so visitors can view & enjoy our first 12½ Nature Reserve. For local wildlife, this is becoming quite an haven for an array of insect life such as Butterlies, Bees, Moths & Dragonflies. The birdlife is excellent & species can range from Owls, Kestrel, Buzzards, Warblers, Treecreeper, Woodpecker, & 3 pairs of nesting Grasshopper Warblers, which we are very pleased about.

We also have an excellent mature wildflower meadow that that is nicely pathed like a maze, great for childen & parents In all the Barn Owl Centre's new home is improving all the time with the site maturing year after year. If you have a passion for wildlife photography, why not take your camera into our Nature Reserve to see what you can Photograph.

Barn Owl Centre – We offer support & advice to assist the conservation of wild owls & the rehabilitation of wild birds. Come & meet our conservation staff, there is always someone on-hand to discuss ways on how you can support Owl populations local to you.

Support provided for wild British Owls & Kestrel Projects
With many landowners now involved in their own conservation projects, why not come & visit us to see how we do things & view the habitats we are creating. During a visit you can share your experiences with our Conservation team, it is always a pleasure for us to hear what others are doing to support these beautiful birds.

If you are looking to acquire an Owl or Kestrel Nest Box, these can be purchase from our web shop (Here) or by visiting the Centre during opening times.
